Ryan I also believe that Chapter 2 of The Trial continuous the confusing an
abnormal atmosphere of Chapter one. I don’t know if I would say that K. is a
very proud man because he wouldn’t ask people "where the courtroom was". I
believe that most people would be a bit shy to ask "where the courtroom was" in his situation. I
agree that the entire courtroom scene seems to be unclear and dream like. The
set up is weird and crowd’s description seemed to be ambiguous. I was also
frustrated when the judge told K. he was an hour and a half late, even though
they never told him what time the interrogation would take place and exactly
where it would take place. I don’t believe that K. ever turned the crowed
against the judge. I believe that K. only thought he did. I agree that the
legal system in this country is probably corrupt. I am curious to find out what
the purpose of the crowd was. I believe that K.’s speech was a bad idea. I
believe that K. should have just defended himself instead of attacking the
legal system. That interrogation was to prove if K. was guilty or innocent not
to prove that the legal system was corrupt. I too would also like to know what
advantages the judge is referring to; when he tells K. that he lost many
possible advantages from the hearing.
