Maya's Second Reaction

This may sound a little impatient on my part, but I am just wondering, when Kafka will fully explain the reasoning behind K’s arrest? Nevertheless, I am still enjoying the reading. As I read, one particular passage shed some light onto the type of person K really is. Once K is relocated to speak to the supervisor, he makes  a snarky comment about the uniforms that upset the supervisor. This man had not previously said anything insulting to K. He told him to refrain from such behavior because it could probably worsen his situation. K becomes offended by this. I perceive it to be the supervisor’s way of helping him by suggesting he simply shut his mouth before he says something incriminating. K is left feeling belittled, which only makes me question how high K’s self importance is. The reading did mention the possibility of the supervisor being younger than K. Maybe a smaller amount of work experience lead to his equally aggressive reaction. However, K should have seen the logic behind the supervisor’s words instead of taking them so personally. K also shows immaturity and stubbornness when he begins to argue with the supervisor over his request to make a telephone call. Again, the supervisor merely provides a logical reason for why K should save his phone call for when it may actually be needed. Instead, K proceeds to quarrel him when he should have just saved his breath. Ultimately, K did not even make the phone call. These couple of incidents have already changed my perception of the protagonist.
